Programme Co-Ordinator (Part-Time) Position Available
AfriPaw Animal Welfare is looking to recruit a part-time Programme Co-Ordinator. The successful candidate must be passionate about animals and have excellent administrative and people skills. The role involves a combination of doing administrative and logistical work from home (40%) and working in the field with our resident volunteers in Vrygrond, Overcome Heights, Seawinds and beyond (60%). The position will be for an average of 3 days per week (specific days are flexible, but will require commitment for at least every Thursday as well as the second Friday and Saturday of each calendar month).
A minimum qualification of Matric and code 08 driver’s license is required. We are looking for someone with great communication skills, who is also practical, delivery-focused, and service orientated. The successful candidate must be physically fit as some of the work requires walking door-to-door as well as packing and lifting products and equipment. Sound knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel is essential. Basic photography skills are needed. Experience in animal welfare would be an advantage but is not essential. Remuneration: A Day Rate is negotiable. Start Date: February 2023
The position involves:
Spay Days (Once a week)
Oversee door to door sterilisation sign-ups done by community volunteers. Process sterilisation sign-ups, mail merge data for name tags and arrange printing. Prepare name tags, collars, leads and cat boxes. In partnership with our community volunteers, complete door-to-door on-site briefing of all pet owners two days before sterilisation. Prepare food parcels and aftercare instructions. In partnership with community volunteers and pet owners, and with the support from our industry partners, co-ordinate collection and delivery of all pets.
Pet Clinics (Once a month on the 2nd Saturday of the month)
Liaise with the local school to confirm bookings and access. Prepare flyers and oversee door-to-door distribution by community volunteers. Prepare SMS to community pet owners and send out from a central system. Pack and prepare products and equipment. Prepare free food parcels. Oversee setting up of field clinic on Pet Clinic Day. Oversee the running of the Pet Clinic, in partnership with a large team of volunteers as well as our industry partner. Assist with the clean- up of supplies and equipment after each event. Update the Pet Clinic Register after each event.
Paw Patrol
Bi-weekly door to door visits with Vrygrond volunteers. Report sick or injured animals. Form relationships with pet owners and encourage them to attend Pet Clinics. Take photos / videos for portfolio of evidence of our work.
Food Sales
Liaise with our AfriPaw Ambassador about stock levels. Order and deliver food and packaging from suppliers. Bank money.
