VOLUNTEER
Your time is a gift to us. We have a wonderful team of committed volunteers, but we always need more hands. We believe in spreading the load, so as to not overburden anyone.
There are several areas where you can get involved:
Spay Days
You can volunteer at our bi-monthly Spay Days. This is always on a Saturday and takes place at a local school or church in Vrygrond. It is usually a long day, so you can sign up for a morning session (7am – 12pm) or an afternoon session (12pm – 5pm). If you have a lot of energy, you are welcome to stay the entire day!
Pet Clinics
In partnership with Dogmatters, we run monthly Pet Clinics on the second Saturday of every month, from 10am – 1pm. (Set-up from 9am). Come and help us dip, de-worm, feed, love, hug and kiss the pets and connect with the community. We believe that education by demonstration is the best teacher.
Adoption Days
From time to time, we showcase pets that need homes. We always need help with managing the fur-kids and talking to the public.
FOSTER OR ADOPT
Whilst we try to avoid removing pets from their homes, it is sometimes necessary when there are cases of neglect or abuse. Sometimes owners surrender their pets to us because they are unable to care for them. We assess each situation on a case-by-case basis.
Foster
We do not have kennels, so we rely on the public to open their homes to pets that need to be fostered. Sometimes it’s just for a few days and sometimes it’s for a few months. Fostering saves lives and prepares pets for a loving and stress-free home environment.
Adopt
If you are interested in adopting, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram. If you can’t adopt, you can help us by sharing our posts and encouraging friends and family to visit our social media pages. All our pets are sterilised, vaccinated and checked by a vet before they are placed in a home.
